Sesame Seeds are primarily used as an Oil Seed which is processed into one of the world's healthiest oils. A highly commercial product, they are used in both the food and non-food industries. They are those little seeds you would typically find on Burger buns. Grown by smallholder farmers in Northern Nigeria mainly for export, Sesame Seeds are Nigeria's second largest non oil export after Cocoa earning over N26 Billion first quarter of 2018 alone. INTERESTING FACTS ➤ Nigeria is the 3rd largest exporter of Sesame Seeds in the world. ➤ Sesame Seeds are used in producing Cooking Oils, Confectionery Products, Perfumes and Pharmaceuticals. ➤ 99% of Sesame Seeds produced in Nigeria is exported to countries like Japan, Turkey, Netherlands, Germany, China, South Korea etc. USE CASE/ PROCESSES We source Sesame Seeds from preselected smallholder farmers in Jigawa and Kano States. The seeds are cleaned to a purity of 99% and then packed in 25kg bags ready for export. Our key export points are Turkey, Japan and Netherlands.
